Yesterday, upon hearing that Senator Ted Kennedy was endorsing Obama, Marcia Pappas, the President of the New York State chapter of the National Organization for Women, got her (unbleached, organic itchy cotton granny) panties in a big, huge asshole-chafing bunch. And then she wrote a press release. And, unlike the rest of us who try to take a moment and breathe before sending something like that when we’re upset, she sent it off.

So, she called his Obama endorsement “the greatest betrayal.” She basically said that every progressive man that isn’t supporting Hillary is a closet misogynist. Also, she thinks Kucinich supporters are betrayers, too, because they don’t have the right to vote their fucking consciences politically when there’s a motherfucking woman on the ballot. Oh, and as Moe pointed out yesterday, she also thinks that when Edwards and Obama argued with Hillary at the debates it was the psychological equivalent of gang-banging her (though, she meant “gang-raping,” like that’s any better).

You know what I feel betrayed by? Supposed feminists telling me that I have to vote my uterus instead of my conscience. Supposed feminists telling me that Hillary is a progressive candidate when she’s a centrist triangulator who I know hires Kool-Aid drinking staff (i.e., like all the Bushies) who supports what the polls tell her to first and her own conscience second. (Also, I don’t really agree with a lot of her policies, economic and social). Feminists like this who equate a political argument with gang rape, who act like Hillary can’t handle herself and who think that supporting a woman - regardless of the woman - is more important that supporting policies that help women (so, like, we should’ve voted for Elizabeth fucking Dole?). “Feminists” who make the rest of us look like humorless sexists that think that women should be able to “do to men” what they’ve supposedly done to us, rather then thinking and acting like the purpose of feminism is to bring about equality.
