Gonzales Remains Unemployed Laughing Stock, Allegory for Children

Former Attorney General in happier days when he was employed to perjure himself before Congress.
Poor Gonzo. Ever since he left his job breaking the law on behalf of the President George Bush, he’s had quite a time trying to find a new one. Maybe it’s the downturn in the economy, but Washington’s top law firms seem less than enthusiastic about bringing a disgraced political hack who may himself one day face prosecution on board. Reports the paper of record:
“Maybe the passage of time will provide some opportunity for him,” said one Washington lawyer who was aware of an inquiry to his firm from a Gonzales associate. “I wouldn’t say “rebuffed,”‘ said the lawyer, who asked his name not be used because the situation being described was uncomfortable for Mr. Gonzales. “I would say “‘not taken up.’”
Yowser! Them’s tough breaks! How ever will this poor, beleaguered formerly the foremost in the nation, make ends meat? Perhaps he’ll have better luck generating interest for a confessional-style screed than he’s had trying to drum up a job on K Street. But with Judith Regan and her tell-all publishing house out of business, he may be out of luck on that front too. Oh, Gonzo. This is how you’re repaid for all your loyal service to George Bush. But come on buddy. Every rat should know when it’s time to abandon ship.
