Another GOP politician is poised to join the burgeoning ranks of GOP sex criminals, after former (New York state) Monroe County Legislator and Irondequoit Town Board member William Bastuk turned himself into sheriff’s deputies authorities last Friday on rape charges.

Former Monroe County, Irondequoit official pleads not guilty to rape charges

Bastuk, a 54-year-old married father, entered a plea of not guilty on Saturday morning in Rochester City Court to raping a 15-year old girl. The charges he faces are first- and third-degree rape and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

Authorities allege that on Sept. 5, 2007, Bastuk lured the unnamed girl into a storage space at the Rochester Yacht Club. Bastuk then locked the door behind them, turned on the young girl and raped her while covering her mouth to stifle and muffle her pathetic screams, law enforcement authorities allege.

Bastuk’s career of evil apparently began to derail 8 years ago when the town’s GOP screen committee refused to endorse for his re-election bid to the Irondequoit Town Board, because he used own funds to repair a pothole in preparation for some kind of festival he had organized.

The alleged GOP sex maniac is free and at large in greater Rochester on a $15,000 bail. He is due to return to court on Thursday to begin preparation for trial.
