By the People of the United States of America

WHEN, in the history of a democratic government the institutions and laws established by the People to guarantee their inalienable rights come to be so weakened, ignored, openly violated and openly contemned by the highest elected officers of that government, in violation of the Constitution, the laws and of their oaths, to such degree that the lawful means of redress, correction, and punishment in such cases has been rendered ineffective, and the corruption of the institutions established by the People, and the seizing and consolidation of power by these faithless and corrupt officeholders, has subjugated democracy and created the imminent threat of the emergence of a fascist tyranny, such that it becomes necessary for the People to assert their role as the sole source of all legitimate government power and to remove the criminal and corrupt officeholders who threaten freedom, a decent Respect for principles of democracy requires the People to declare the causes which impel them to this action.

Like our forefathers, we the People hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men and Women are created equal, that they are endowed, by their nature, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, and that to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among the people, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed. We further hold that when the powers granted to government by the People have been corrupted and perverted by the criminal actions of faithless officeholders who have usurped the powers granted by the People to their tyrannical purposes, it is the Right of the People, through the mechanisms of the government they have established, or through extraordinary action to defend that government when it has been threatened by fascist tyranny, to remove such officeholders, undo their unlawful acts, repeal their criminal edicts, and subject them to the justice of the people for their dire crimes.

Prudence does indeed dictate, that the mechanisms long established by the Constitution for the prevention of tyranny and the protection of the rights of the People should not be changed for light and transient Causes. Nevertheless, all Experience hath shewn, that the People and the Institutions of the United States are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to resort to the remedy of Impeachment as set forth in the Constitution. But now a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce the United States to a state of Fascist Tyranny, and the institutions endowed by the constitution with the duty to defend the nation from such abuses have neglected their obligation and our Constitutional Democracy itself is in peril. It is therefore the Right of the People, it is the Duty of the People, to defend the Constitution and their Government, and to remove from office those criminal and treasonous usurpers and subject them to appropriate punishment. The People of the United States of America have been slow to anger and trusted long in the intended working of the remedies set forth in the Constitution, but the threat is now risen to a Necessity which constrains them to take direct action to Impeach George W. Bush and Richard Cheney.

The History of the current illegitimate usurpers of the office of President and Vice President of the United States, and of their entire administration and those they have appointed to office, is a History of repeated Injuries and Usurpations, all having in direct Object the Establishment of an absolute Tyranny over this Nation.

To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid World.

THEY have blatantly violated the Constitution and the laws of the United States, as well as the provisions of the Geneva Conventions and International Law, by ordering the use of kidnapping, torture, murder, and indefinite detention without charge or process of law, as well as other acts repugnant to the ideals of the Constitution and of Democracy, casting a stain upon the honor of this nation and causing it to fall in esteem among the nations of the world.

THEY have callously made use of a tragic attack upon the United States by a small and powerless group of religious zealots as a pretext to seize and concentrate the power of their offices in violation of the Constitution and Laws, and to stoke the fires of belligerent nationalism, employing the fascist tactic of igniting a patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate an exaggerated threat of “islamic terrorists,” through a fraudulent, endless Global War on Terror, perverting the natural and proper patriotism of the people by creating and encouraging a bellicose nationalism, even employing the symbols of Nazi fascism by referring to the United States as the “Homeland.”

THEY have subverted the necessary and vital role of an independent press in a democracy, using the fraudulent war and the exaggerated threat of terrorism to censor, directly and indirectly, by threats and by retaliation against news organizations and individuals, and by encouraging policies and regulatory decision making which have weakened impediments to concentration of media ownership and thus allowed and encouraged direct control of the media by powerful corporate interests.

THEY have willfully violated the 1st amendment of the United States Constitution, respecting the establishment of a national or state religion, and interfered with the free exercise of the human right of conscience, by breaching the separation of church and state, providing government funds to religious organizations, allowing religious organizations to perform government functions, and by forcing citizens to submit to religious beliefs in order to avail themselves of government services. THEY have imposed religious restraints on education and public health, through “abstinence only,” the promotion of creationism and denial of evolution, through limitations on and efforts to censor stem cell and global warming research, and through numerous acts attempting to impose religious beliefs in scientific and environmental policy. THEY have deliberately made a practice of appointing to the judiciary individuals whose agenda and intent it is to impose elements of their faith on the people as law, and they have intentionally turned the administration of justice over to religious believers of one sect of Christianity, allowing and implementing hiring practices favoring unfit and unqualified evangelical Christians in the justice department and US Attorney’s offices, for the purpose of establishing an enduring presence of ideological zealots bent on turning the United States into a theocracy, an end which, though an admitted goal of their faith, is utterly abhorrent to the principles of the founders and to the Constitution.

They have violated the Constitution and the laws of the United States and violated the right of the People to be secure in their persons and their communications, by engaging in a massive program of illegal warrantless surveillance on all forms of electronic communications without cause or suspicion.
They have violated the Constitution and the laws of the United States by engaging in practices and acts designed to deprive the People of the fundamental right of the franchise, by denying individuals their right to vote through voter purges, by organizing campaigns of intimidation designed to prevent individuals from voting, by subverting justice and bringing politically motivated federal criminal charges against voter registration organizations with the intent of intimidating poor and minority voters, by appointing highly partisan and corrupt officials to oversee and administer elections, who have engaged in the manipulation of legal technicalities to selectively disenfranchise voters groups, with the ultimate result that the very legitimacy of their election and reelection to office is deeply tainted, being founded on a corrupt and lawless decision of the United States Supreme Court supported by a majority of nakedly partisan justices stained by irresolvable personal conflicts of interest.

They have engaged in a conspiracy to create and exploit the false and fraudulent grounds for an unprovoked, pre-emptive attack on the sovereign nation of Iraq, in furtherance of which they have engaged in a constant, seven year long series of public lies told with full knowledge of their falsehood, for the illegal and unconstitutional purpose of waging an unprovoked war of conquest in order to plunder the oil reserves of Iraq, in violation of the Constitution and the laws of the United States, of International law, and of basic standards of morality and human decency, with the result that thousands of members of the United States military services have been killed, tens of thousands grievously wounded, and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis killed, wounded, impoverished, or forced to flee and become refugees, and in doing so they have depleted the Treasury, indebted the Nation, and corruptly squandered funds to enrich individuals and profiteering corporations.

THEY have throughout their term of office dedicated themselves not to the people of the United States, but rather solely serving the interests of a small group of the rich and powerful, in their every action in office always working to advance the interest of powerful individuals and corporations and to weaken the power and role of organized labor, and the ordinary mass of the People, to the detriment and harm of the great mass of citizens of the United States, effectively attempting to create a permanent, fascist oligarchy and destroy democracy, in violation of the Constitution and committing treason against the bedrock principles of this Nation and its People.

AT every Point in this procession of Crimes, any resistance or disagreement by the People or their Representatives in the National Legislature have been arrogantly rebuffed and calumniously derided as unpatriotic, weak, and dangerous to the safety of the Nation. The Arrogance of George W. Bush and Richard Cheney as they continue even against the will and desire of the overwhelming majority of the People in their criminal acts has demonstrated beyond all doubt their contempt for democracy and basic human values such as honesty and decency. They have gloried in the blood they have shed and their depraved criminality and have disgraced this Nation in the eyes of the World.

WE, therefore, the People of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the true deciders in a democracy, do solemnly Publish and Declare, That George W. Bush and Richard Cheney are, and of Right ought to be, impeached and removed from office, and that hereafter as long as they remain in office, should be regarded as illegal usurpers with no legitimate authority, and further, that the effectuation of their removal is warranted and necessary for the protection of this Nation and the perpetuation of the dream of the Founders of a free and abiding democratic government.
