Did He Blame the Democrats for Getting Fired?

The overnight answer: No clue.

Local media are reporting that the Arkansas shooter was fired from his job Wednesday morning at a Target in Conway, 30 miles north of Little Rock, after writing grafitti on the store walls. “Store employees said Johnson’s body shook as he turned in his ID badge,” reports 40/29 TV.

After shooting Arkansas Democratic Chairman Bill Gwatney around noon, Timothy Dale Johnson then ran into the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, where he pointed his gun at the building manager, and finally drove away in his pickup. Arkansas State Police killed Johnson after a chase, saying Johnson fired first.

KARK reports that Johnson worked at a Gwatney-family Chevy dealership, but police cannot confirm the report and have yet to discover any connection between the two men.

We’re still withholding judgment over whether Johnson was a nutcase or political terrorist, but thirty miles is a long fucking way to drive.
