Revenge of the Paultards

Fall down ... go boom.

Oh my:

Maverick GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul has booked an arena in Minneapolis for a “mini-convention” that could steal some of John McCain’s thunder just days before he accepts the Republican nomination.

Wait - I thought McSame was the maverick ….

“There is a growing surge of people out there just craving” for a return “to traditional American government, limited government that places personal liberty first and places an emphasis on personal responsibility and essentially gets out of the way after that,” [spokesman Jesse] Benton said. “The buzz we get from supporters is that they are very eager to come to St. Paul and very eager to send a strong message.”

McCain spokesman Jeff Sadosky declined comment. Paul has won 35 convention delegates, but was not invited to speak in St. Paul because he refuses to endorse McCain, according to his campaign.

Megan, I think you have to go cover this for a few of those fourteen blogs you write for …. Damn I love the Paultards. Pass the popcorn.

Ron Paul Plans His Own Convention [Pittsburgh Tribune-Review]

That’s Entertainment!

Yes Jenny ... there will be short buses to take us home after the march ...

Been meaning to put this up for a couple days … if only I was a full-time blogger. Yeah - like Sallie Mae would permit that. Anyway:

Rep. Ron Paul is still in the GOP race and even drew 16% of the vote in the recent Pennsylvania Republican primary. Now his supporters are planning to stage a “revolt” at the Republican National Convention in September, possibly with the aim of securing Paul a prime time speaking slot.

Conservative radio talk show host Mike Gallagher told the hosts of Fox and Friends on Tuesday, “There is no question that this could be a major headache for John McCain.”

Doesn’t this make you love Paultards even more? Anything to knock the Psychogeezerâ„¢ off his stride. And, as John Cole pointed out, he’s got another problem - one Bob Barr:

And while I cheer this chiefly for the mayhem, the simple fact of the matter is that either Ron Paul or Bob Barr would be better than John McCain. I am still pretty convinced that Bob Barr is batshit crazy, but at least he has been right on some pretty important issues, and right on some trivial ones as well.

Fun times ahead. Count on it. Libertarian chaos comes home to roost. The GOP’d better batten down the fucking hatches.

Revenge of the Paultards

Welcome to Paulville ... c'mon in and set a spell.

Blogging can be difficult. It’s not easy to find something to snark about in a world filled with war, death, and compasssionate conservatives eager to waterboard us.

Then, there are the days bloggers live for, like today. This morning I was listening to Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, and they had a segment about the latest Paultard idea - gated communities filled with Paultards. How did we miss this?

At last, some cheering news for downhearted fans of Ron Paul, the libertarian Republican now certain to fail, by some distance, to secure his party’s presidential nomination. This month has seen the first meeting of the shareholders in a fledgling community development planned in rural Texas, to be comprised exclusively of Paul’s supporters. It is to be called Paulville.

The gated settlement will house freedom-loving folk, living unbound by the shackles of planning regulations. Its founders hope that when complete, it will inspire further Paulvilles around America and, in their own words, “literally change the world, one community at a time”.

More Paultard nonsense after the jump.
